All study content, German recordings, vocabulary, rules and the quick teacher are served by this site. No paid API or external media embed is required. The optional language model runs on the computer where you open the site.

1 · Move your progress

On your old device or localhost site, use Backup all progress. On this site, use Restore backup. Browsers keep each domain and device separate; there is no automatic cloud synchronisation. Keep the backup file private.

2 · Optional local AI

Install Ollama from its official installer, then install a German-capable local model suitable for your memory. The site lists installed models; it never downloads weights automatically. Larger models may improve explanations but can still be wrong.

Quit an already-running Ollama app first. Start the server in a terminal:

Keep this terminal open. Open a guided exam, turn on the teacher, expand Ask your own question, and choose Find installed local models. Allow local-network access if your desktop browser asks. This connects only to http://localhost:11434, never to a public AI service. Do not expose Ollama to the internet.

Each response has a 60-second timeout and requests immediate model unloading afterward. Teacher off, independent mode, leaving the exam or changing question cancels pending output. Cancelling the browser request may not instantly stop computation inside Ollama; stop Ollama to release resources immediately.

3 · Portable study kit

Download all study pages, rules, vocabulary and audio

Extract the ZIP. With Python installed, open a terminal in its folder and run:

python3 -m http.server 4173 --bind 127.0.0.1

Then open http://localhost:4173. On Windows, use py -m http.server 4173 --bind 127.0.0.1. After downloading the kit and model, studying works without the internet. Run the pages through this local server; double-clicking HTML files does not reliably support storage or audio transcripts.

What is checked automatically?

Objective answers are scored exactly against this mock’s key. Writing feedback supplies revision clues; it is not an official examiner grade. Export your completed attempt for a detailed review. Rules explain patterns; word facts supply gender, plurals, irregular forms and fixed expressions. Understanding and practice are still required.
